Fashion takes a backseat to my inner geek

Sometimes, I still question why I even care to be fashionable when I go to school.  I mean, all fashion really does is garner weird stares for not wearing campus gear and jeans. There's a certain irony in being a fashionista at school.  On one hand, we dress to impress.  Yet at the same time, to a certain extent, we have to not care about what others think since we don't blend into the crowd. Ponder that.

Anyway, that little prelude leads me to my recent obsession with laptop bags.  I recently bought a satchel-like laptop bag that doubles as a camera case so I can be stylin' on any day, instead of carrying around a frumpy backpack.  Yeah, the look of a pretty dress paired with a backpack was getting old.

Dear friends, I AM accepting late birthday gifts!

  6. I loove the nintendo bag! Oftentimes the geek in me takes over and it manifests in with my accessories. And lol.. it's so true, you get all the weird looks when you get all dressed up in school.

    Cheers!

  9. Haha i think with the new semester starting, it's only natural to be obsessed with finally THE bag to carry everything in and look nice at the same time. :) And I totally know what you mean - girls dressed really nicely carrying a big frumpy backpack...

  17. interesting thoughts on fashion/dressing for school. Don't you find though if you tried wearing jeans/sweats like everyone else you feel weird and not at all like your self??

  23. haha that nintendo bag is so cute! I tried a messenger bag when I was in college, but too many engineering books, and too many classes back to back, so I reverted back to my backpack. haha.
