The texting generation

Remember when fingerless gloves were known as "hobo gloves"? Well it's funny how much that perception has turned around. The other day, I heard them being referred to as "texting gloves". Texting gloves...gloves without fingers so your index finger can still reach your dear touch screen phone. Because it might be absolutely freezing outside, but those super important texts about how much you hate exams absolutely cannot wait.

In other news, I'm going to start pushing my sunglasses up if I feel them slipping. Otherwise, as my photos show, it kind of makes me look like I have a unibrow when shadows hit the glasses the wrong way. Which I don't.

Winter Stripes

Tis the season to go see friends and family and be merry and such. I like to dress up when I go out, since I spend the greater part of my day in my pajamas if I'm being a coach potato at home. But with cold temperatures, it can be hard to motivate myself to put on a dress. I made an exception though for this striped dress from Surfdome. I've been looking for a white dress for a while, and it's a pretty big deal that this dress isn't see through, which is especially unattractive in the winter when you're sporting tights underneath. Sure, it's a fun summer dress in essence, but under a few layers, it still works for winter. And if I do say so myself, it's still just as cute.

Lucky layers

I was having a hard time deciding what to wear this morning and kept on changing shirts.  Then I glanced at the clock and realized that I was late.  So instead of properly deciding what to wear in a hurry, I threw on both shirts that I was deciding between.  Luckily for me, it worked out pretty well because I ended up accidentally creating a layered look.  But normally, I wouldn't recommend wearing two shirts out in public without consulting with a mirror.

Winter flowers

It's pretty easy to get caught up in seasonal depression.  It gets dark quickly, it's cold, and nature is brown and dead.  I'm not much of a gardener, but I did get myself a flower-print top from JACOB to try to bring back some life into my life.  I think that's gonna be my thing from now on...forget about getting me bouquets of flowers- those just die.  Get me floral print clothes from now on.  All the fun of flowers without the depressing sight of withering.

Lusting for layers

One of Ottawa's greatest attractions is the Rideau Canal. During the winter, it becomes a massive skating rink. This also means that it can get massively cold when skating. You can't really see it, but I have 3 sweaters on. During the day with the sunshine was lovely, but once the sun went down, it was cold again. I think I've finally found a layered look that I absolutely love though.

Cozy nerd

Midterms and papers may be a problem, but the weather can't stop me.

Gotta love the layered cozy look to go with nerd-chic.

What I'm wearing:
-Olive corduroy jacket
-Blue Hollister Hoodie
-Basic red t-shirt
-White Costa Blanca scarf
-Grey knit hat
-Black Urban Outfitters glasses

Note: I don't normally wear anything with huge logos plastered across the chest (or in this case, the sleeves too), but sometimes things just happen to slip into my wardrobe. They've all become layering pieces now.
