Trench

Now that I'm in limbo where I'm not in school or working yet, I try to dress up when I do get to go out, even if it's to run a few errands.  This way, I hope that I'm giving off the impression that I'm someone who does something productive, instead of someone who spends their days in pajamas while eating Nutella straight from the jar and watching old episodes of Boy Meets World.  Not that I do that...

Backless

Trending for a while now has been backless clothes and tops with cutout backs.  I do give them props for looking really great and edgy, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy into this trend.  Because to me, this isn't a trend about being backless.  It's about being braless.  And I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for that.  Since most of these things just wouldn't look the same with a bra line peeking out, are we just supposed to go about without wearing bras anymore?  I guess I'm okay with that.  No one actually likes bras anyway.

Vintage champagne

I need more dresses with bows, more tulip skirts, and tops with lace overlays.  More importantly, I need more occasions where I can wear a dress with all of these features.  Thanks to Millybridal.com, I've got a fancy new dress to save in my closet for a special occasion.  They do a huge selection of prom and wedding party dresses. But seeing as how I'm too old for prom, I'll need to save this for a wedding. So friends, please start getting married so I have somewhere to wear dresses to. Or if one of you wants get married a whole bunch of times, that'll work too.

Shady

It kind of concerns me that for a while now, I thought that my eyes weren't visible through my sunglasses. But looking at these pictures, they are. Which means that I've totally been staring people down or checking them out, thinking that they couldn't see me, but there's a good chance that that's not the case.

New blog layout

In case you hadn't noticed, I just thought I'd let you know that I rolled out a few changes to my blog layout. As in, I re-modelled the whole thing. Here's to a cleaner look and feel with more space for bigger images. Hourray!

Again, special thanks to Emily for her great photography that I used as the header here for two years.

Spring cravings

During my point of insanity from writing way too many cover letters and sulking about how I'm potentially going to be unemployed and poor this summer, it seems that the most logical thing to do is browse for a new wardrobe online with the money that I don't have.

If I do crack, it's a good thing that eFoxcity is reasonably priced enough to keep my wallet content.  The site is filled with really cute items that are perfect for spring. They have a great selection of styles and colours, especially if classy and feminine pieces is your thing.  I'm currently lusting over these bright bottoms, a neutral blazer, bold jewellery, and chiffon.  Seriously, chiffon needs to stay in.  None of this "tight fit" stuff. Why didn't we think that material that flows away from your body was a good idea sooner?  And it's pretty.  Now who can argue with that logic.

Blue zebra

Sometimes, I like to run around town to try to find objects that look like me.

Just kidding. But seriously, look at the vase of flowers and chair.  If I was a blonde, we could totally be twins. I didn't even notice until I looked at the pictures and thought, "Huh. Something looks familiar here".  I'm okay with this though.  Unlike people, vases don't try to talk about you behind your back for copying their outfit or make a show about who wore it better.  And for the record, I wore it better.

The Starburst wrapper clutch

I've been saying for a while how I wanted to make a clutch made out of Starburst wrappers.  So for my birthday last year, the boyfriend got me packs of Starburst to get this project going.  It's a nice thought, but it's like getting someone an Ikea dresser for a gift: Oh hey, I got you a dresser! But by the way, you'll need to assemble it yourself. It'll give you hours of hard work, and I'm not gonna help.
Hey boyfriend, I'd better get a regular purse like a normal person for my next birthday instead.

Green beer

St. Patrick's Day is coming up and I'm happily using it as an excuse to wear green, even mixing in a cardigan which could be an ode to the oodles of beer that will be consumed on that day.  I severely lack green in my wardrobe, which is why I was super excited to receive this gorgeous fit & flare dress from eShakti.  In fact, I was so excited to try it on, I tore a button off the back of the dress.  So I'm going to need to learn how to sew that button back on, or my theme for the 17th is going to be "I hope you're too drunk to notice that the back of my dress isn't closed properly".

Great White North

To me, the glimmer of hope that spring is near begins when I can change from my bulky winter jacket that barely allows me to move my arms to something...well, a little more flattering.  "Warm" means 0 degrees.  At this point, I get all excited and forget to wear layers.  Which isn't that great if you're going to be outside for an extended period of time.

Like a great Canadian, I built a sort of igloo and used it for shelter. Now, I just gotta build an igloo garage for my polar bear...

Bam, pants change!
