Rebellious

via Pinterest

Since high school, I've made sure that I dressed nicely and said things like "oh crackers" instead of swearing so I'd be fully prepared for the work world. But the place I work at now can best be described as anti-corporate. All sorts of language flows freely and I'm thinking about showing up in sweatpants (nicely styled, of course). Since I work somewhere that does't expect me to be in a pencil skirt with hair tied back everyday, I've been tempted to be rebellious since I never went through that stage during my teens. In keeping up with my previous post of subtle badassery, I've been contemplating wildly coloured hair. Except that my rebellious side takes a backseat to my laziness though because I can't be bothered to upkeep hair like this. Oh, and since I'm asian, I risk looking like an anime character. That's a big factor too.

  1. The purple is my favorite!

As someone who works in a job where colored hair is not allowed and expression is quietly discouraged, I say GO FOR IT. You only live once.

  5. Ha, I want to work at a workplace like that! What's wrong with looking like an anime character? That's like..the best thing ever!!!! *_* I say go for it! It does take some time dyeing it, but maybe you can start with just a few strands of hair.

  8. ME TOO. One of my best friends dyes her hair all the time, including blues, purples, a beautiful fuschia recently, and platinum blonde. I want to do it... but I'm afraid if I don't like it!

I have a hair appointment Saturday and have been going back and forth and back and forth about it. I think I might actually do it... since I am going to become 30 next year and might as well get it done once just to see what it's like before I turn old.

  16. You should do it! While I thought it was really crazy to have hair like this not long ago (meaning silver hair with pink or purple ombre), but I've changed my tune when I've seen how amazing it looks on so many ppl. In fact, it seems like crazy hair like this is becoming slightly more accepted in more workplaces (at for the summer). I usually think that hair like this is more suitable for the summer but I'm sure fall and winter would be great for it too! Can't wait to see what you decide to do :)

I would do something crazy myself but I think I'll preserve my hair in a more classic cut and colour for my upcoming wedding... Don't want pink/bleached hair for that!

  21. Never too old to be rebellious! haha ^_^b I got bright purple streaks in my hair in high school years ago and I regretted it because I didn't keep it up so it looked awful and my hair was damaged. But, if you are willing to maintain it, I think you'd look awesome!!! Also, lucky you for being able to work in such a casual environment! *fistpump*

  22. I think you could pull it off. The scariest thing would be the initial bleach.
