Birthday bore

Flower cutout top c/o New Dress / Houndstooth skirt from TJ Maxx / Crystal necklace from Banana Republic

I'm not a fan of the question "what are you doing for your birthday". I kind of feel like any answer that doesn't include balloons, pretty cakes, party shenanigans, or copious amounts of alcohol is considered boring. But that's just the way I like my birthdays - relatively boring.

All I want to do is collect my birthday freebies and get a chance to wear pretty things. And that's just what I had on Saturday. I sat at a Starbucks with my Venti drink with an unnecessary amount of customizations. Then, dolled myself up, and went for dinner with the boyfriend in a nice little local restaurant where I got some free cake, and best of all, nobody sang.

Here's to another year of being older. Now get off my lawn.

  5. That's sort of how I celebrate birthdays - I don't like people making a fuss! A nice quite evening out sounds like a great way to ring in a new age!

  9. Oh my gosh, right? I'm the same way about my own birthday! Mine's easy going and celebrated just by my family and consists of opening gifts, a nice home cooked dinner, and cake. And that's exactly how I like it! We're the same person hahaha.

That skirt is absolutely adorable. I love how cute you made these neutrals look.

  11. Happy birthday! However you like to celebrate, I think it's fabulous, because it's your day. I'll pass on balloons and most shenanigans, but I do love a good cake!

  12. Happy late Birthday anyways! I had my birthday at holidays this year and there was no singing involved only my favorite tapas bar and lots of food and ice cream! I don't like to consume lots of alcohol on my birthday either and honest I don't really understand why people always think thats the only possible way to spend your birthday.
Now I really love our outfit! The top is so cute and the cut out details really add something to the whole look!

  14. You look so stunningly beautiful! The cut out detailing on your top is so pretty. And a very happy birthday babe, I whole heartedly agree that keeping birthday's low key can be the best way. Love that you went to Starbucks, something I'd probably do on my birthday too ;) Hope you enjoyed your day and dinner with your boyfriend sounds lovely also <3

  15. Love your outfit, the laser cut tee is perfect over the houndstooth skirt! I like my birthdays like that, also. Quiet, and intimate, but I must admit, I have been celebrating one, and off for a week now. No copious amounts of alcohol, though.
    Happy Birthday!!!!!
