How to: Dress for the rain

It was another stormy day in Ottawa.  Luckily, I managed to make it home before the huge clasp of thunder today.  Couldn't help but to stare out of the window onto the fierce storm, kind of wanting to play in the rain.  I've never done it before (it's on my bucket list!), and with the right gear, it could be fun!

What you'll need: Rain boots, umbrella, waterproof jacket/poncho, hat (if your outerwear doesn't have a hood)
Rainy day apparel
Just because the weather's dreary, doesn't mean your wardrobe has to be.  Okay, perhaps trenches and rain coats aren't for summer, but cute hats and rain boots are a must.  Classic rubber wellingtons are one thing, but rain gear comes pretty trendy now.  Transparent umbrellas and ponchos are definitely trending.  Long outerwear (to about the mid-thigh) is especially great because it would keep your whole outfit dry if you were to wear a midi-skirt.  Pair that up with a pair of sleek wellingtons- waterproof rain boots are coming in great black cuts that look almost equestrian.  Rain is no excuse to damper your fashion parade!

P.S. Excuse the weird aligning- I've been experimenting with Polyvore and it's going to take some getting used to!

  8. I prefer just to all but deny it's happening. Rain on bare legs is lovely, especially when it's hot & luckily I have short hair so it dries quickly!
