Intern-al reflections

It's less than 2 weeks until Ottawa Fashion Week kicks off in Canada's capital. As a Social media Intern, it's thus far been a ride of meetings, deadlines, and writing. Yet all these things give rise to one thing- growing.

Coming into this position, I had a vague idea of what to expect, but I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. I must admit that at times, it's been hard (and will get harder) juggling being a student, blogger, and intern. I'm a tad freaked out when I think about the weekend of the 17th where, over the span of 5 days, I have 2 essays due, 1 exam to write, 1 launch party, 1 closing party, 1 charity gala, 3 runway shows...and a partridge in a pear tree. But I wouldn't have it any other way (okay, maybe I could do without the essays).

This position has helped me to push myself farther into fashion than I normally would have. I'm up to date with Canada's best names in fashion and savvy of some of the trends going on around the world. Even with all this, the best has yet to come- the actual show. I simply cannot wait to give live tweets and timely blog posts straight from the show.
